Tonight, Jon Stewart made his long-awaited Daily Show announcement! *Drumroll* It's the "Rally to Restore Sanity," to be held on October 30 in Washington, DC. Inside, video of Stewart's hilarious—and meaningful—bombshell, plus a rivalry-filled cameo from Stephen Colbert.

"Take It Down a Notch For America!"

What is need is a huge rally to restore the memory of the American electorate before they let Republicans back in the door!
Here's the Peoples' Exhibit One!
It would be great if people were capable of independent critical thought. Sadly, too many of us make our decisions based solely on media-driven propaganda. Hence the popularity of the tea baggers. They claim to hate taxes. You can ask them HOW they'll reduce taxes and they'll look at you blankly. Rational thought has no place within their philosophy.
"Legalize Pot?"
"9/11 was an outside job?"
While Stewart has done some pretty amazing work pulling down the pants of right wing hypocrisy and government lunacy, they are nonetheless serving the unhelpful role of left wing progressive gate keepers by once again referring to 9/11 Truth activism as "conspiracy" stuff.
"9/11 Truth activism"? Is that what they call the collective insanity or stupidity of the truthers?
I apologize to the insane and stupid for implying that 9/11"truthers" have intellects on par with them.
The truth is that 9/11 was an outside act (19 Arabs). It was aided & abetted by the somnolent incompetence of Bush. And it was followed by the folly of invading Iraq. In a word.
I'd go to THIS rally in a heartbeat, by myself if I have to, but I'd much rather be a part of a group.
'Scuse me whilst I continue my search for a carpool.
This rally is on the weekend before the election. Wouldn't it be better for dedicated progressives to work on GOTV than to party in DC?

My boyfriend and I are thinking of going. We are going to plan out the map this weekend and see how long it will take to get there, and will we be back on time for work on Monday. Hey Mona Lisa, I heard that Huffington Post out of NYC is going to have buses available. I am going to check out their website.
