Here's my boat, post-storm. Other than some water in the bilge, it rode out the storm nicely. And we got some tree debris in our yard, but no damage to our house or cars. Our thoughts are with those who suffered damage in the storm.
My dad and CT Joyce's mom still don't have power. Inconvenient, but not a major problem. All things considered, we're pretty lucky.

We lucked out up here in Suffield. The eye of the storm was predicted to pass over us, & as the weatherman said, we'd get the best of both worlds (lots of rain & wind.) A tree fell on my neighbor's house in June (saw it happen out my kitchen window - very scary.) So we prepared for the worst. We dodged the bullet, but now the CT River is backing up into the brook below our house. We've seen it flood before, but this one may get higher - we're keeping our eye on it.
There was a lot of backlash against the predictions & news coverage on Irene. I can only say I think we've learned our lesson, and I would much better be safe & not sorry.
