Remember Hurricane Gloria?
I do. And it looks like we'll see more of the same in a couple days. Be smart and be safe.
In '91 when Hurricane Bob arrived I was out on Nantucket at a friend's house. A lot of people took their boats across to Hyannis harbor before it hit. Turned out to be a bad idea. Two days later when we came back to the Cape those boats were up on the shore trashed, while it wasn't that bad on the island. You should get your J over to Port Jeff.
Right now, I'm helping a friend commission an old Hunter 27 that I found for him on eBay for practically nothing (2K). It's at Kingman in Cataumet. It's a beehive of activity, and you could cut the tension in the air with a knife...
When Irene hits, I plan to be in Provincetown. That should make for quite a show.

I'm gonna have to ride it out here. We got insurance. Not much more I can do other then throw a few lines on the boat and hope for the best.
