Obama Wins in Iowa!

In a dramatic result from Iowa, President Obama swept the Democratic caucus with 100% of the vote! Obama is most likely thrilled with the results, and will continue to lead the nation as the New Hampshire primary approaches.

In other news, we're still waiting to see how the Republican contest goes.

Poor Mittz. All those millions in the wind and he couldn't get clear of the Andy Kaufman look-alike.

Fox used Obama's picture for Romney on Monday when talking about final polling results....I'm beginning to see a trend.....

Here's my prediction:

Santor(scrot)um wins NH; and it'll end up being a 2-way with these two guys, with Romney coming on top in the end.

The GOP race seems to me to be a lesser of two evils rather than "who is the best candidate". OH well. I'm a Pres. Obama supporter. North Carolina will decide much. Romney can't really win NH, only meet or not meet expectations. On the other hand Santorum's new guy bump in polls will come down a bit and now he'll be scrutinized as well.

The problem is that the primary system - whether Republican (this year) or Democratic (four years ago) tends to favor the viewpoints of the most extreme elements of the Party involved in the primary. If saner heads prevail over the grueling 6 month process, the most electable (read: most acceptable to Independents) will end up being nominated.

That being said, I do NOT believe that "saner heads" will prevail in this season's Republican Party: in the shock of losing the White House in 2008, they accepted as standard bearers Bachmann, Palin and Perry in their leadership; and allowed their odd viewpoints to usurp that of the majority of Republicans, and made their opinions the voice of the GOP.

The Democrats made the same mistake after the 1968 election; and it took 24 years for them to learn their lesson.
