It's the economy, stupid

The unemployment rate jumped to 6.1 percent in August, its highest level in five years, pushing the troubles of American workers to the center of the political debate as the presidential campaign enters its final weeks.

Yeah, I'll say.

Gee, I wonder how many jobs we could create if we had even HALF the $2.5 BILLION A WEEK we're throwing into that endless hole of a war? Which candidate said they'd get us out of Iraq quickly?

It's an easy choice.

Real cool Bob, dragging up a 70 year old picture to race bait. Ah the nutroots, the best friends McCain Pallin have theses days.

Get us out of Iraq? Obama has already changed his position on this, stating that he would conform to "the needs on the ground". I havent heard him mention Iraq in over a month probably because it's no longer as important to him. Obama also stated that the "surge has suceeded beyond his wildest dreams". Have you seen the latest polls, bob? One last thing, how can you even remotely compare a 6.1 percent unemployment rate to the Great Depression with a rate of over 25% for a decade as you elude to in that picture? ughhh.

Anonymous has been a busy bee...

How about this for a more recent picture? It's from yesterdays NY Times.

Secondly, Anonymous, you Like to "pick & choose" your quotes (much like the idiots who got the United States into this mess); but when it's done to you, you scream "OUT OF CONTEXT", or (if you can't hide behind that) "I DON'T RECALL" (an answer used before Congress by Administration officials more times in the past two years than in the previous 230 years).

Either get a life...or get the TRUTH (it's --oddly enough -- the same for ALL of us).

Finally, as a matter of fact:

There are more people - both numerically and statistically - unemployed, living in poverty, or without the means to sustain their lives - than during the WORST of the Great Depression.

Like those time, though, our Country has an Administration and a Presidential team who chooses to help business owners (a move likely needed) but will IGNORE the needs of everyday Americans (a move DEFINITELY needed).

Say what you want, Anonymous, but REAL Americans will choose the team that will best help them for the future. Your philosophy died years ago.

All I'm talking about is Bob's race baiting with his picture. I am not referring to the economic issue. REAL americans want to work together for REAL progress not get tied down with low blow partisanship. The other anonymous poster is correct about obama and his iraq stance. Iraq will probably be low profile during the next 2 months unless something major happens there. Obama pulled the wool over the nutroots faces with his iraq stance in the primaries. No serious advisor would even consider a full pullout with things as "quiet" there as they are.

Interstingly enough, I apparently am too insensitive to see this "race-baiting". I've actually looked at the photo again, and I'm still at a loss to see your point.

Is it that there are (heaven forfend), MINORITIES in the line? Should we -- according to your perverted blindered view of our lives) IGNORE the devastation wreaked upon "the help" by the policies of George W. Bush - which are now openly espoused by John McCain?

Is it that there are no "little people in the car? Maybe Bob should have Photoshopped the driver's face (like your nutjobs did to to the infamous "Kerry with Fonda" picture).

Sorry, Anonymous (wingnut), but your feigned outraged cries sounds like:

"Methinks the lady doth protest too much". Look it up if you don't know the quote (Hint: it's from Hamlet)

If the people in line had all been European-American, then the charge would have been *class warfare*. What these trolls are up to is simply spreading a fog of negativity and fear.
They have nothing constructive, no real policies to promote. Just more of the same destructive greed and hate. They won't even use a screen name so that responsible readers can keep track of the sources of the droolstreams.
It only takes a second to identify rightwing posters by the angry, negative tone of the post. That's all they've got.

Isn't also curious that -- if you're not a WHITE MALE -- the unemployment rate is almost nearly Depression levels?

Yer doin' a Heck uva job, Bushie! And Ah know you'll keep tha uh, uh, tha, uh, uh, uh, tha ball rollin', Johnnie!

I'm done arguing with this "don't-bother-me-with-the-facts-I-KNOW-the truth" idiot. Bob, I honestly don't know how you do it.

Helluva job, with no pay.

Final comment -

To paraphrase my father: from a "nutroot" grows a mighty oak. Think it through.

Wow. This is what happens when I take a day off from blogging to earn a living! LOL!

Funny how Anonymous looks at that image and sees "race-baiting".

I look at that image and see a problem with how our nation deals with economic issues and unemployment.

This is why McCain and the Republicans will never "get it".

From the Associated Press:

"LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - John McCain and Sarah Palin criticized Democrat Barack Obama over the amount of money he has requested for his home state of Illinois, even though Alaska under Palin's leadership has asked Washington for 10 times more money per citizen for pet projects. "

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO SEES THE HIPOCRASY HERE?

Do you know if Any obama biden yard signs are around ct

CT Bob said...

Well, I've seen some Obama signs today all through NW CT, western MA, and eastern NY state. I didn't notice if they were specifically Obama/Biden signs, but there were plenty of them.

I didn't see a single McCain sign.
