Welcome to a Tuesday edition of the Sunday Night Music Club, from Monday night in Hartford! I guess that makes this a very special "Tuesday Edition of the Sunday/Monday Night Music Club"! Every Monday night, Tapas Downtown Hartford welcomes The Shinolas delivering Americana and roots to set the mood as you chow down on the restaurant's big, bold options. (Tapas information here)
The Shinolas features Jim Chapdelaine on guitars, Lorne Entress on drums, Paul Kochanski on bass and Ed Iarusso on pedal steel.
Mike & Tessa (pictured) have been after me for ages to see this band, and I'd heard about them elsewhere, like in Ed McKeon's blog Caterwauled; Ed has a great write-up about the band, so click on the link and check it out.So CT Joyce & I joined them for the trek up to Hartford for an evening of tasty music and equally tasty food. We're glad we did! Enjoy this video I camera'd last night.

When they play "Everybody Knows This is Nowhere" Hartford Connecticut finally becomes Somewhere.
You should go see The Feelies at Daniel Street in Milford on Saturday. Hugely influential (just ask REM) and still at the top of their game.
Getting a band like this in our town is a huge coup for the folks at Daniel Street.
I'm thinking about going, but I don't know if I can make it this weekend. I'll probably go to Daniel Street for Surf Night on March 25th.
The Shinolas are great. Al Anderson has been known to sit in with them from time to time. Check out their version of "The Warmth of the Sun" on YouTube
Rich, definitely the next time you're in CT on a Monday, we've got to see these guys! Keep that in mind.
