From Daily Kos:
According to Springfield, Missouri's NBC affiliate, Roy Blunt is starting to take some heat for his parable comparing the President Obama and Democrats in Washington, DC to a band of jungle monkeys terrorizing British imperialists trying to play a simple game of golf. And here's the video:
In Blunt's parable, the monkeys keep on storming out of the jungle and throwing golf balls around the course. As a result, he says, "you have to play the ball where the monkey throws it," because there's no way to eliminate the monkey problem.
As Rachel Maddow says, it is extraordinary that a senior member of Congress -- who just happens to be the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Missouri -- thinks it's totally appropriate to cast his political opponents as jungle monkeys.
He deserves every bit of heat he gets.

Kinda looks like John Ashcroft. He's from Missouri, too. So's Rush. Just saying.

Hey, I'm not gonna knock Missouri; my company is headquartered in St. Louis, and I'm pretty sure they read this blog. So...
While Roy Blunt is acting like a dick, there are multitudes of fine, industrious, upstanding citizens proudly living and working in the "Show-Me State"!
(Although their slogan does kind of suck!)
Incidently, This bozo is no relation to author Roy Blunt, Jr., a frequent guest on NPR's "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!"
In fact, Jr. once referred to the, um, "Distinguished [deleted] from Missouri" as his "evil homophone."
Wonder how Blount like being called a homo-anything???
What's a "homophone"?
This?
(I know I know...I just couldn't resist!)
Upstanding citizens? Oh really Bob. They voted for him and I guarantee you they will again no matter what The Daily Kos has to say. Politicians only say what their constituents want to hear. JC Sr
No, they're awesome wonderful people, and they include many of the bosses who decide if I should remain among the ranks of the gainfully employed. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about that pinnacle of statehood, Missouri.
