Gov. Brian Schweitzer's complete JJB speech

The governor from Montana, Brian Schweitzer, was the keynote speaker at this year's Jefferson Jackson Bailey dinner. The entire speech (minus about 30 seconds right before the end, when I was required to change tapes) is roughly 43 minutes long, and concludes with an entertaining auction of the governor's bolo tie.

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-3) introduced the governor.

Speaking of Governors, don't forget to catch Jim Amann on Face the State tomorrow. :)

He regales them with stories about illegal conduct and those lawyers find it hilarious. Nice.

You're right about that, ACR; it's always hysterical to hear conservative columnists worry about the "integrity of the vote"...but only when their guy loses! I guess they were all hiding under their respective rocks or too hungover from drunken celebrating in 2000 and 2004 to complain then, huh?

The margin of Tester's victory was large enough so it didn't qualify for a recount, and Burns quickly conceded once the votes were all counted. Case closed.

Schweitzer's remarks were indeed boneheaded and ego-driven in your video, and I'm sure he was playing up to his crowd there. He's obviously smartened up by now.

Although, his line "nervous as a pregnant nun" was quite the comedic gem!

A neat thing about Tester, he's an organic farmer. Any chance of a prairie populist revival?

Now if the Democratic Party can revive the spirit of Bryan and LaFolette that would really be something! :)
