From this morning's This Week with George Stephanopoulos. Are these statements made by John McCain within 47 seconds of one another contradictory or not? We report, you decide. [Video from Think Progress]
MCCAIN: Took us a long time to get in the situation we're in, and to say that - and somehow assume that in a few months, that things are going to get all better I think is not realistic....and then there's this:
STEPHANOPOULOS: You say it's all in. How long are you going to give it to work?MCCAIN: I think in the case of the Iraqi government cooperating and doing what's necessary, we can know fairly well in a few months.

this guy is a complete idiot... he deserves Lieberman as a running mate.
Why is the sound of Republican candidate Pataki sounding better and better to me...???? I can't think of ANY potential Republican candidate that is REMOTELY paletable, and that includes RUDY. they all... well.. SUCK.
I don't see how this is a flip-flop. What he said is we'll know in a couple of months if our new tactics in Baghdad are working. He didn't say everything would be magically solved in a few months. There's a difference between progress and end game.
Nice try trying to spin this.....
Sheesh.
Couldnt agree more with anon 10:23. I think you guys are reaching on this one.
C'mon...does anyone really think that any "new tactic" will succeed in Iraq at this point?
All we're doing is making it worse by being there. We're not liberators anymore, we're occupiers. They don't want us there.
CT Bob, your pervious post are all assumptions, not saying you are wrong but they are assumptions
Perhaps you're right, but I'm not going to sweat the little stuff while dozens of American soldier's lives and $10 Billion are being wasted every single month in Iraq. If I'm proven wrong about McCain, I'll send him a Carvel ice cream cake and an apology. But for now, let's just focus on fixing what's wrong with our leaders.
