Now You're Pissing Me Off, Barack

OK, Person of the Year -- Kirby here. I was not real happy about the Hillary as Secretary of State, but figured you knew things we didn't. I was really unhappy with the whole Lieberman thing -- I think you took "forgive and forget" a little too far there, and we in Connecticut who are NOT responsible for that worm being in the Senate will never forgive OR forget.

But, Rick Warren for the invocation at your inauguration? He opposes gay marriage, believes in evolution, calls abortion another Holocaust, and dresses himself up as a less threatening version of James Dobson -- when he is just as scary. Go read the piece from the Nation.

Yo, Barack -- time to become a purpose-driven Democrat. Enough of this crap.

A couple of years ago my church decided to do a study of Warrens book.

Around 15 groups of 8 - 12 met weekly in various members homes.

The whole experience was decidedly corny, but most of us enjoyed it.

Thanks to that, most of the original 15 groups, now two years later remain a little more cohesive and we find ourselves working with each other raising funds for a local soup kitchen or battered women's shelter.

Democrats from one town, Republican office holders from another; insurance exec; para-legal, social worker, consumer product field rep all working together in His name towards helping those that really need a hand.

Yes indeed that nasty Rick Warren really incites people.

Not.

Now that the hate-driven have been heard from, it's even more clear why Obama made such a choice.

ACR, you're missing the point here. Rick Warren subscribes to and speaks fondly of discriminatory bigoted thinking. If I had more time today I'd spell it out for you, but if you want to read a lucid accounting of Warren's words (with abundant citing), check out Kirk Murphy's article on Warren over at FireDogLake. It boils down to his firm belief that it's apparently his calling to not only dislike women's and gay's rights, but to eliminate them altogether.

Dr [Rick] Warren said that homosexuality is not a natural way of life and thus not a human right. "We shall not tolerate this aspect at all," Dr Warren said.

And I just passed my Cisco certification exam this morning. I'm completely wiped right now!

The fine folks over at Moonbattery have an entirely different take on the whole thing.

Dear Authentic,
I've got nothing against God -- but I do against holier-than-thou multimillionaire evangelicals who claim they have the authority to condemn others.

Jim Wallis, who lives in inner-city Washington, DC is much more my idea of a spiritual leader who walks his talk: http://www.sojo.net/jimwallis/

I would have loved to have seen him chosen for such a high-profile role instead.

You guys are going to find that Obama will do plenty of stuff that you don't like. He's already reneged on the issues that got him elected. He won't be sending you a check for not paying taxes. He won't be giving you free medical. He won't be taxing only the rich. You guys have been played. He's not a screaming left-wing nut. He only acted like one so you would vote for him. Actually, he's a Clinton clone. He'll do whatever is popular at the moment. And for the next four years, the popular thing will most likely have you choking on your own bile. The war will go on until we win. Gitmo will stay open until we deal with all of the terrorists. Every person in America will have increased taxes. The price of gas, electricity, vehicles, food, etc. will rise dramatically. Republicans are happy that he picked Clinton. She is more of a man than any other Democrat. Pelosi has already revolted against Obama. She intends to be just as antaganistic towards him as she was to Bush. Yeah, you Democrats had the votes. But no, you didn't use them wisely.
