Chris Shays refuses to appear on "Face the State"

Despite being given tremendous scheduling leeway by WFSB-TV (Channel 3), Rep. Chris Shays (R-04) repeatedly declined all invitations to appear on the station's banner political program, "Face The State".

I'm not understanding this at all. Every other single Congressman in Connecticut, along with all their challengers, had immediately agreed to appear on the program.

This just seems to be a fearful, overly cautious move by a candidate who is terrified of anything other than "low-information voters" showing up at the polls in November.

Jim Himes accepted the invite, of course, and appeared alone to discuss the issues. For the entire video in three parts, see the article at ConnecticutBlog. But here's the quick intro that pokes a bit of sly fun at Shays for not appearing:
