Pallin' around with terrorists indeed

Here's a great article by Eli at FireDogLake that points out the utter hypocrisy of the Palin/McCain fantasy that alleges Barack Obama had some kind of close relationship with Weather Underground founder Bill Ayers:
So Sarah Palin wants to accuse Barack Obama of "pallin' around with terrorists" because he has a very distant acquaintance with a member of the Weather Underground? Really?
That's an awfully daring strategy, considering that not only is she sleeping with a former member of the Alaskan Independence Party (AIP), a radical separatist movement whose founder died in an explosives deal gone bad, she's cc'ing him on government e-mails and letting him sit in on government meetings.

And if that's not enough, she tried to install a right-wing militia member on Wasilla's city planning board when she was mayor, and she recorded a very supportive video address for the AIP's convention this year, telling the secessionists to "keep up the good work."

So, what's worse? Being vaguely associated with anti-American radicals, or marrying them and giving them pep talks and a prominent role in your government?

And I haven't even mentioned John McCain's good friends Charles Keating and G. Gordon Liddy. Whoops! I guess I just have.
So, we have a secessionist banging the VP candidate (no, I'm not talking about Jill Biden), and a guy who ran with such a rotten group of corrupt politicians that he's part of the group named the "Keating Five".

Yeah, I'll stand that up to a passing acquaintance with a guy who dropped his radical ways and was working to effect positive change in his local educational system any day.

If we're going for strict accuracy here, Sarah Palin is the one pallin' around with the terrorists.

Have you read the Rolling Stone article on McC yet? Brutal truths.
They quote a fellow POW, a Lt. Colonel, who did not break under torture and was severely punished for his attempts to escape, as saying:
"McCain says his life changed while he was in Vietnam, and he is now a different man," Dramesi says today. "But he's still the undisciplined, spoiled brat that he was when he went in.".
Much more like that.

Yes, I did see the RS article. It was scathing in examining McCain's past.

But then again, we usually get that from Rolling Stone when it covers GOP candidates. That doesn't make it any less true, but some neocons will use it as an excuse to not take the article seriously.

That was a very interesting story, really undermines the idea you are a Washington outsider an maverick when you are screaming daddy's name to get special privileges through the Navy.
What scares me about these Palin and McCain attacks is how they are demonizing Obama and his supporters again (just like W) and it is leading to things like the supporter that yelled out "kill him," at a Palin rally today.
Palin did not respond to this comment. And I am supposed to believe that these are not the same old hateful Republicans?
Riiiight!

Rolling Stone has a verified circulation of almost 1.5 million. National Review hits about 178,000.
Who will listen to the neo-cons?
