Why you need to vote for Jim Himes

There are some holdovers from the days when Chris Shays might have been able to claim he was a moderate that worked across party lines. Some of them might think that they'll vote for Barack Obama and also Chris Shays. This video explains why that would be a bad idea.

I made this video between study sessions for a difficult certification test I need to take soon. I'd like to know who thought it was a good idea to schedule a national election at the same time I have to study!

... or democrats and republicans can compromise and work together.

Yes, because we all know how well the Republicans compromised with the Democrats all those years they had the majorities. Do you even remember assholes like Tom DeLay? He wasn't called "The Hammer" because of his ability to compromise!

We'll need some Republicans to work with us, that's true, but don't doubt for a moment that they won't try to be as obstructionist as possible to ANY changes that go against their party line.

we cant vote for people based on their party, because if you vote all democrat a large portion of america will be unrepresented. it sucks, but i think its necessary to have republicans in government

Not when their toxic policies endanger our economy! Now Shays is pushing for the kinds of loans that got us into this economic mess in the first place.

Look, I'm fine with a Republican being a Congressman if they do good things FOR THE PEOPLE, NOT SPECIAL INTERESTS! Shays has sold us out.

And for the record, I'm not averse to bitching about bad Democrats. Read the archives of this blog from April 2006 thru the senate primary in August 2006, when Joe Lieberman was still a Democrat.
