Rep. Jack Murtha attacks the pencil pushers

Bravo to Jack Murtha (D-PA), the bravest man in the House of Representatives. He'd finally had enough of all those chicken-hawk politicians who endlessly repeat how "we are fighting the war" in Iraq.

Note to Congress: "WE" aren't "fighting" this war! It's the courageous men and woman of the U.S. Armed Forces who are fighting and paying the price for those cowardly politicians in DC.

George Bush claimed the "mission accomplished" over 3,000 American lives ago...isn't it about frickin' time we declare victory and bring our soldiers HOME?

As an aside, I guess the air conditioning in the House is very nice. The Congressman seems to think it worthy of a couple of mentions! I wonder if they have a Kelvinator?

Its amazing how you guys rally around Jack Murtha.

The guy is under an ethical cloud, and he wants to draft America's sons and daughters into the Military.

I noticed that My Right Douchebag was updated by one of those crazy right wingers over there. heh

As for Murtha's statements concerning the draft:

Via The Marine Corps Times and the Army Times:

The Senate Armed Services Committee heard testimony Tuesday that increasing the size of the Army and Marine Corps may not resolve severe and growing personnel problems. There was even talk of returning to the draft to fill the ranks.[..]

"If the United States is going to have a significant component of its ground forces in Iraq over the next five, 10, 15 or 30 years, then the responsible course is for the president and those supporting this open-ended and escalated presence in Iraq to call for reinstating the draft."[..]

Will those bush supporters with their talking points ever wake up to reality?

Notice how the Reigh Wingers cannot use their own name. They sneak on these boards spew lies as "anonymous" then crawl back under their rock nice and safe.

Kevin, that's been an issue for a while here. I'm resisting making it a requirement to be logged into Blogger to post here, but I do wish people would at least pick a handle and put it at the bottom of their post, so when there's multiple anonymous's in a thread, I can at least differentiate between them when I reply.

CM1, yeah, those righty douchites are at it again! LOL
