Barbara Lambert for Milford's 118th District

State House Speaker Jim Amann has decided to retire from his long-held House seat in Milford's 118th. We have a terrific leader ready to take his place, Barbara Lambert.

The seat is being hotly contested, with Republican Nanci Seltzer and Independent Rocco Frank making it an historic three-way race. All three candidates are enthusiastically campaigning for the seat, and YOUR VOTE will make the difference!

Barbara is a Milford alderman and has many years of civic experience to bring to the House. Visit Barbara's campaign website to get more information.

We expect record turnout tomorrow, so be sure to vote early and give yourself plenty of time for possible waiting lines.

Milford also has three other races that the Democratic incumbents are expected to easily win. But that doesn't mean you can sit home and not vote!

Paul Davis 117th District House
Richard Roy 119th District House
Gayle Slossberg 14th District State Senate

LOL. You know, when I typed "vote early..." that phrase went through my mind. Smart ass!

Other semi-local stuff is of course:

VOTE NO on 1: Constitutional Convention (The ConCon is a Major Con Job by the Right Wingers)

VOTE YES on 2: Allowing 17 year olds to vote in a primary if they will be 18 at the time of the next General Election.

Plus... a Vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden would be a good thing to do.

Rocco Frank The Independent Supports A constitutional Convention. Barbara Lambert Opposes It as does the the top Brass at our state. 5 Thousand people showed up to a rally in Hartford last month showing their support of this convention while no one other than money and advertising from a handful of wealthy people showed up to oppose it. The latest poll from Quinnipiac U. has this issue split with 69% infavor of a YES vote and the rest undecided or against it. Mobilizing to defeat it will likely have no effect.

Thanks for the cowardly anonymous comment dude. You're as brave as most of those other homophobes.

Bob I love people of all races, colors and creeds. I support any person marrying any other person they want. I believe it is their right to find romance, peace and tranquility wherever they can find it. I support civil unions, and I support Gay marriage. My above comment is posted as a "homophile" not a "homophobe."

I feel your pain my friend, the problem we, and you have is that This issue is up for a vote, and under our system of Democracy it looks like a lost cause by a very wide margin. I am not even wasting my time on it at this point, just am going to vote and be done.

One last point, Lamberts district is chock full of churches and all of them are "full force" against it. This has served to severly undermine Lamberts Chances tomorrow.

Well, I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you, but you are a complete tool. Probably you don't have any friends to tell you that, so I figured I'd do you the favor. You're welcome.

Oh, and keep wasting your time posting here. I'm sure you're changing minds by the thousands with your well-reasoned comments.

The funny thing is, I think you actually think this works!

Bob your comment leaves me speechless, I am not sure why you commented beck in that way but it was not nice.

Because you anonymously post negative and defeatist comments that serve absolutely no purpose except to further your pro-Convention agenda. If you have the conviction of your words, you'd at least sign your name or even an internet handle to your anonymous posts.

Otherwise, you're just another anonymous asshole. I deal with lots of them here, but I'm one of the few blogs that allows them. But that doesn't mean I can't call them on their bullshit. Get over yourself.
