Chris Murphy's announcement speech

Rep. Chris Murphy gave a brief speech to officially kick off his campaign for the Democratic Senate nomination. The speech was given in a crowded room in the Waverly Inn in Cheshire. Visit ChrisMurphy.com for more info.

UPDATE: The congressman spent a little time after the event to address questions from voters and supporters. Here he is giving a Youtube shout-out to my pal Spazeboy:

How awesome is that?

Great job Bob.

Really liked that Chris kept it so short and sweet.

Having survived last years Senate drama, I just can't bring myself to think to hard about next years race. It's nice to know early about Ole' Joe, but Suzie Soap Opera for another year?

Actually, it's good that Chris threw his hat (And perhaps sanity) into the ring. This will keep town chairs and other leaders from jumping on anyones bandwagon too early.

As they say in 'The Day Of The Triffids', we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, I kind of feel that Susan forced his hand just slightly. Quite reasonably, he didn't want her getting too big a head start on fundraising or building support.

I felt the time was right last week. I urged Chris to jump in just a couple days before Joe's big announcement and right before Susan announced, so obviously I'm psychic!
