Fuckin' hell!

Why do I even bother?

From the AP:
President Barack Obama reversed course Monday and ordered a resumption of military trials for terror suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, making his once ironclad promise to close the isolated prison look even more distant.

Guantanamo has been a major political and national security headache for the president since he took office promising to close the prison within a year, a deadline that came and went without him ever setting a new one.
Until he grows a set, let's see how hard I work for the guy in '12.

Bob, I'm at a loss for words... except to point out that mankind had been down this road before... SOB

Just get it on Netflix

"Nothing is so unworthy of a civilization as allowing itself to be governed without opposition by an irresponsible clique that has yielded to base instinct.

Do not forget that every people deserves the regime it is willing to endure!"

Obama going to really miss all that help you were going to give him. I hear he is spend $1.4 Billion on this campaign.

Rubes! Dupes! You will never learn because you want so much to believe that you are intellectuals who can see from your living room simple answers to everything you perceive as a problem. You construct echo chambers like this one to reinforce and validate your beliefs. In the end, you are just being used by a political party who counts on you to fit this predictable stereotype. You will support Obama against any non-Democrat and he knows it. This site is a Goodthink laboratory. We do appreciate you doing your goodthinking in such a public place. Best regards, BB

True to some extent, but there's a significant difference between lukewarm support and banging the drums loudly for a candidate. There are countless examples of candidates who lost reelection because they didn't acknowledge their core supporters once they took office.

Sure, I'll probably vote for the guy again, but that doesn't mean I'm going to knock myself out for him when he pulls shit like this. A lot of his supporters likely feel the same way. You don't think that translates into hard numbers come election day?

All they have to do is convince you the person running against Obama is evil, a proposition in which many many progressives will agree without any thought, and you will all be mobilized to fight the evil. To many "progressives" everyone with a different opinion is Hitler (who was ironically a socialist). You all are then convinced to ignore your own weak candidate because they are fighting Hitler. Then you go to bed feeling good about yourselves after having trashed everything you stand for. Freedom of speech, intellectual debate, the founding principles of our Constitution and Bill of Rights are easily ignored by the progressive who hates Sarah Palin, for example. The DNC will blow the trumpet and most social warriors will get in line without question. IMAO

The man is incompetent, even Jimmy Carter knows it.

My place in history did go up a few notches since 2008. I'd say more, but I have to go back to certifying elections held by tyrannical despots. keep up the good work. JC

There's no difference between Obama and the Chimp. NONE!

They both serve their corporate masters.

Just in case you are still wondering how sitting out the last election has worked out for Democrats, check this blog:
This whole "Teach Obama a Lesson" thing is working so perfectly, isn't it?
There are comments there that sound really familiar.

Or is it that they'd rather avoid the obvious warts that are popping up on their side?

No worries Bob. I wasn't replying to you, I was making an observation about some of the commenters in general.
