Planned Parenthood Votes!

There's a new branch of an organization in Connecticut. "Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut" advocates for reproductive rights and encourages pro-choice voters to make their voices heard:
Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut is the advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. In that role, we seek to:

*Encourage and protect informed individual choice regarding reproductive health care;

*Advocate public policies which guarantee the right to choice and full and nondiscriminatory access to reproductive health care;

*Foster and preserve a social and political climate favorable to the exercise of reproductive choice;

*Promote informed citizen action in Connecticut in support of reproductive rights, sexuality education, and access to reproductive health services.

I've donated more to Planned Parenthood since Palin stepped up as a possible VP, and again since we women have gotten screwed by healthcare issues in general (Viagra insured, birth control, possibly not - it depends). And now, with the new situation regarding mammograms and pap smears, it almost sounds like a conspiracy of sorts. Although we women hate them, these procedures do seem to be a preventative and beneficial measure. It sounds as if we (women) are getting the screws put to us once again. Planned Parenthood seems to be one of the only groups speaking up for women these days.

Hey VB! How's it goin'?

Obviously, the Stupak amendment to the health care reform bill also needs to be modified or removed. But mostly, Lieberman needs to be muzzled on this thing or he'll do a lot of damage to women's reproductive rights, and the rights of all citizens to obtain affordable health care.
