Political Wire has learned that Connecticut U.S. Senate candidate Ned Lamont's (D) campaign manager, Tom Swan, took part in an early 1990s protest at the offices of Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) and was arrested after the senator called Capitol Hill police. Swan and his fellow protesters were physically dragged from the office.So. Tom Swan felt strongly enough about Sen. Lieberman's right-wing conservative stance against universal health care that he allowed himself to be arrested for it?
Lamont's campaign confirms the story but calls the event a "coordinated action" of "civil disobedience" targeting multiple lawmakers. "It was also one of a series of actions due to the instrumental role Senator Lieberman played in killing universal health care. Not only did he not support it, he helped kill it."

True. I thought it was a good idea back in '93 when Clinton was pushing it, even though I was a business owner and it would have cost me personally more.
But it was the right thing to do, so I didn't mind all that much.
Sadly, these days very few politicians give two shits about doing the right thing; they only do what they think will get them reelected.
Awesome. I can't wait to vote for Lamont! How the hell our government can deny people university health care is beyond me. Oh right, we're paying for their health care / pension / etc., what do they care about ours.
