Oh Jesus, not another video about "The Kiss"?

Yeah...sorry about that.

I really didn't want to rehash this old story, but everytime I see a picture of "The Kiss", the mp3 player in my head starts playing "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer...on repeat.

...endless repeat...

I really hate this song. With every fiber of my being. It's everything about pop music that I detest, and yet because my brain was subjected to it a couple of times maybe two years ago, it automatically starts playing if I see that photo of Joe and George making out.

So, to try to exercise this demon, I thought that by making a video of it might finally put it to rest. Maybe coming to grips with it will make it go away.

Boy, was I wrong! After editing the video for about an hour, and hearing the same fucking clip from that god-awful song about 90 times, I'm absolutely sure that it'll bounce around my head for a good hour or two when I try to get to sleep tonight!

Of course, there IS a solution: single malt scotch. That usually works...temporarily, at least. But I always run out eventually, and whatever terrible mind-phantasm that's been haunting me soon returns.

Anyway, here it is. My visualization of a beautiful relationship gone tragically wrong. A real tearjerker. Enjoy.

It's a great idea, and I'll see if maybe we can get some interest in the concept. It's something that the campaign wouldn't do, but if the Swift Boaters could get away with trashing Kerry, we could do this on our own just fine!

you really took one for the team there, CTBob - you desreve hazard pay for the song exposure alone. Great clip.

I had (have) the same problem with "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" the 1965 Mel Carter version, which I made into "Kiss Me" a few months back. God knows what would have happened if I'd used the recent Clay Aiken version. The weirdest was when I heard it in a grocery store. Felt like I went into a parallel universe for a while.

Yeah Scarce, you were the inspiration with that video; I started thinking of songs when I first saw it, and for some reason that awful fucking "Kiss Me" song popped into my head.

And it wouldn't leave, until I finally had to put together a video of my own. Now that I've got it out of my system, I only hear it when I play the video.

Plus, I like my narrative; a love affair gone tragically wrong, with Condi Rice stealing him away from Joe. A story like this is really too complex to tell in just under a minute...it needs 71 seconds! LOL

Singing the lyrics of My Darling Clementine to the tune of Ode to Joy is an exercise that unfailingly works to kill any annoying pop song looping in my head. Wish I knew who to credit for that one.

Yeah, good idea, but I'm worried it'll ruin "A Clockwork Orange" for me! :)
