Just What Did Joe Do for CT?

Here's how Connecticut taxpayers have been treated since 1981. The red line is how many dollars we get back for every dollar we send to Washington. Uh, Joe....why do we send more than we get back? No lobbyist for the Connecticut citizens?

The green line is our ranking in money coming back to the state from Washington. Joe had a couple of good years there when he entered the Senate and seemed to care about Connecticut's needs, but like Joe's interest in US, our rank has crashed to LAST in the nation.

Heckuva job, Joey!

Fantastic chart, thanks very much.

Hey, I've been noticing that locally the "VOTE JOE" signs - inevitably placed next to a Republican candidate's sign - are beginning to disappear. I am wondering whether the Foley scandal is such that local Republicans now want to distance themselves from "holy Joe"...

Nailed to the proverbial cross. For all of Joe's vaunted experience, Connecticut is dead last in terms of what we receive back from the Federal government.

Ours is not to wonder why,
Ours is but to ante up!

Look how well we did in 1982.

Hmmm, wasn't Lowell Weicker our senator then?

Kirby, this is a great chart! I'm finding out that the people who actually say they don't know too much about the campaign but are leaning towards Joe don't know anything about him! These are the people I love because by the time I go through Joe's voting record and point out how he is being heavily funded by the Republicans and will no doubt be obligated to them they seem to be all ears. Then I include my points about Ned and how he will help bring back the "checks and balances" in congress that we so desperately need. They always seem to get this point because most of these people aren't happy with the "rubber stamping" given to Bush, but they aren't aware how much Joe has rubber stamped as well. Honestly, it just takes politely talking to some these "undecided voters" and you'd be surprised how easily they can be turned around!

Well, I guess my previous comment attempt did not make it through. Should have been the first.

Anyway, OUTSTANDING compilation Kirby! WTG!! This chart is ready to be plugged in directly to TV [and other] ads; and should be.

this chart is kinda pointless… I want CTBob to immeadiately stand behind voting (a) Chris Dodd, (b) Rosa DeLauro, (c) John Larson, and (d) The three Republican CT Congressmen/women out of office. Do it Bob. If you AT ALL believe in your chart, you will. The point you’re trying to make is vote Lieberman out of office because he doesn’t deliver for Connecticut, when YOU KNOW HE’S NOT THE ONLY ONE RESPONSIBLE.

You chart makes no sense. Lieberman doesn’t unilaterally control money out of Congress to the states.

If you’ll notice, Connecticut when down when Republicans took office. I’m a Dem, and I say vote Nancy Johnson out. I say vote Rob Simmons out. I like him, but I say vote Chris Shays out. THEIR PARTY controls Congress, yet Connecticut gets slighted. But it makes not sense to claim this is Lieberman’s fault.

(Irresponsible) CTBob is claiming Lieberman should be held solely accountable for Connecticut’s decline. I’m still waiting for one of my fellow Dems on this board to call for Dodd’s/DeLauro’s/Larson’s head for the dip for Connecticut. Waiting…

Waiting…

Waiting…

If its not fair for the others, its not fair for Joe. As I wrote earlier, I think our three Republican Congressmen SHOULD be held responsible for this, but Joe isn’t in their caucus, so he doesn’t get to make appropriations decisions.

Gee, Michael, it seems that Joe Lieberman is first in line to take full responsibility for keeping the sub-base open...why not pile some blame on top, too?

Success has 100 parents; failure is an orphan.

If this is what RGJoe's bi-partisanship gets for Connecticut, the state deserves a partisan Senator who'll call the GOP on its bullshit. Clearly, RGJoe's approach ain't working.

Try something new, Nutmeggers. GO NED!

Great chart, Kirby!
