Just a quickie here to follow up on my post from yesterday. Lieberman supporters -- a simple question: which party do you want to hold the chairmanships in the Senate? Democrats or Republicans? Are you happy with how things have gone for the past 6 years under Bush and the Rs running the Senate? Or do you think there is a need for change with Dems as the committee chairs and in charge of the agenda? Simple question -- please let the readers here know your take on this.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled reporting on the 2nd CD from our intrepid reporter, Bob.

Kirby,
You asked, "do you think there is a need for change with Dems as the committee chairs and in charge of the agenda?"
Yes, and there is a solution: The DNC leadership could offer a disaffected member of the GOP a guaranteed chairmanship if they leave the Republican Party for either the Independents or the DNC. This would make Lieberman's threat of departure meaningless.
whats your point??
My point is that you are providing a spirited support of a man who says if he doesn't like the way things are going with the Dems, he will think about going to the other side, which would change the majority in the Senate and hand everything back to the Rs.
I was curious if those of you who support Joe would be comfortable with his deciding he's not happy, and switch so the Rs are the majority.
It's that petulance and the "which answer is it today" about Joe that makes me crazy. Either he is a Dem or he's not -- can't we get a straight, consistent answer?

(Implied Question)
Are you annoyed at Joe for his waffling?
YUP
Are you still more annoyed at Ned and co for foisting the primary on the party (and the tone thereof)?
SLIGHTLY
lieberman supporters, myself included, have many different ideas so, no, there is no one answer that reprensents us except for the need for partisanship. lieberman got a lot of republican support, the majority of independent and unaffiliated voters, and a decent amount from dems considering he wasnt the winner of the primary. personally, my views are fundamentally liberal and i could never be a republican because of my views on abortion, gun control, etc. but i trust republicans more with iraq (yes, i said that, cut and run is a "receipe for disaster". ) and homeland security. if i had to choose one party, id choose dems.
