Bob, hope you stay on the hacked website and slush funds stories. CT deserves to know what really happened.

Bob, the video did not play for me. I tried IE and FF. I am guessing it's the Word from last nights Colbert Report? If so, that was a riot.

anonymous, I deleted your comment because you posted a 12-paragraph story right out of the NY Times. If you wish to refer to an article, please simply quote a paragraph or two to make your point, and put in a link to the article.

I don't want a "wall of text" in the comments section, especially when they aren't a reader-generated comment, but a reprint of an article.

Thank you for understanding.

Carter, yes it was "The Word", but the link got fried; I posted a new link to Crooks & Liars. It was absolutely hysterical.

I have a serious question for the writers and readers of this blog please respond:
Is it more important to you that a senator (either Demo or Rep) follows their party’s voting policy or to vote for what they feel is in the best interest of the people they represent?
I have a strong opinion on this but I want to hear what you think and maybe spark a well behaved debate

P.S. I feel that this question is the core of what’s wrong with our country’s politics and BA and Kirby I especially want to hear from you

You are right. I apologize for that NYT post. Harriet has pissed me off to no end. I have run for office been screwed by the same people who claim they supported Ned but voted for Joe so if any one has a right to free speech it is me. When Harriet runs for office like I did, when she spends her own money like I did to support Ned, when she does something of note other than attack other Dems who only wished that the candidate was someone who at least knew a poor person ( Ned likely knew a few waiters at that country club he was a member of) then I will agree I was out of line until that day she can go to hell. Thanks BA for fighting the good fight.

adam, I answered you in the previous thread. Please refrain from cross-posting the same message. Thank you.

anonymous, thanks. I'd really appreciate it if you'd post who you are so I know where you're coming from. Harriet is a good person who absolutely has her heart in the right place. We've had some hyper-trolling here lately, so everyone is a bit on edge.

Let's get back to honest discussion. For the Lieberman people, I'm willing to discuss the issues, and I think it's important to have an open dialogue. But I do have severe problems with our Senator, so if you don't like reading about them, please go elsewhere.

Because even when I delete the occasional troll's post, we're STILL way ahead of Lieberman for letting people discuss the issue. Joe STILL won't let anyone, friend or foe, post ANY comments. Not a single one.

To me, that says a lot.

CT Blog does let people post either

anonymous, of course you have the right to "free speech" and why the attack one me? First of all, I did give a lot of my money to Ned's campaign, money I really don't have because I'm unemployed, living off my Social Security check and can honestly say, I'm ONE of those poor persons you talk about that Ned should have known. So, I can tell you that he did at least know one poor person, ME!

I do not like Joe because of Iraq and Terry Schivo. I have lost faith in him and will never support him again. I would love to ID myself but I really do not have the temperament to be attacked by name so I will stay anonymous. I worked on Bruce Morrison’s Campaing for Gov in 1990 and State Central (Droney and he gang) got Cibes to run and when that failed they voted for Weicker. So I know a little about what happened to Ned, he was screwed. Morrison’s campaign was run poorly and so was Neds that is not an attack on the messenger it is an observation. I wish in both cases it was not true. Work for healthcare and the environment, minimum wage and choice and lets stop talking about 06. Lets focus on getting rid of the turn coat Speak of the Connecticut House “Gentleman Jim” and getting new people on state central. Lets move on.

Fair enough anonymous, and thanks for the info.

But the blame doesn't fully sit with Ned's campaign. The National Dems pretty much abandoned him after he won the primary. Where were all those high-profile Senators like Boxer and Biden, not to mention Mr. Bill, who spared no effort to support Liebs in his primary run?

Something smells like a deal having been made, and the stink is strong. It's gonna be a while before I forget this.

anonymous, I agree with moving on. I certainly wasn't trying to offend you personally by disagreeing with your original comment. That was never my intention. So, let's both drop the attacks on each other because it doesn't belong in a serious debate. And, please, should we disagree with each other on any issue, let's not go to another level of thinking it's a personal attack, because that's not who I am, and I don't think it's you either. Truce?

Truce Harriet
My tone was over the top and I apologize. If you only knew the crap I have been through with the very same people who screwed Ned you would understand.

We need to replace the 36 idiots on the state central committee. If I can get 36 people who have the guts to run we can do this. That is the next great battle and if Lamont funds that then I will then feel better. By the way I am only 40 but remember the 1972 Presidential Campaign, still pissed that McGovern lost 1976 campaign of Jimmy Carter, loved it, 1980-1992 I am still pissed. Thank God for Bill Clinton.
